A delayed post on Vaseline Party

Okay...now that I'm finally sitting down to write this post do I realize that I have been outdated in my posts!!

The Vaseline party to celebrate great skin was held on October 2nd. That's like more than 2 weeks back. Yes. I am THAT back-dated! LOL~

Anyways, I can't tell you the excitement that I had for the event as it was my FIRST ever Nuffnang event! Yups...my first, and probably my last for this year. Why last? Cause the year is coming to an end, and I'll be busy working rather than blogging for contests/events :S

This post is gonna be a wee bit long as I wanna express a lot about what I feel as a blogger.

If you guys still remember, I joined the MySelangor Story (MSS) last September, and as soon as MSS ended, both me and MsXeroz rushed to do our posts for the Vaseline contest in order to get passes for the event! A day after MSS and 2 days before the dateline of the Vaseline contest, I submitted my post [here] and got my pair of invites to Luna Bar! *woots*

p.s: If you're already bored reading this just scroll down and have a look at the pics la.. I wanna talk a little more here :P

One way or another, I ended up being the driver for the day!
Yes, I drove all the way from Klang to KL! Yup, that's how excited I was so much so that I didn't mind driving almost 100km for the return journey!! Along the way, I picked up MissXeroz, her sis RedButtockz, Feeq and Dylan.

But before all I was officially a driver, I got stuck in a traffic jam for almost 20mins one of the roads nearby my house or maybe it was more of I CAUSED a traffic jam.

I caused a traffic jam??

Wha????

How on earth????

It all began when I drove my dad's automatic car up a slope. Halfway on the slope, I felt that the car engine made weird noises, so I freaked out and immediately stopped the car halfway on the slope, and shut the engine.

When I wanted to restart the car, plain silence was all I got. The engine refused to start.

I panicked. I started texting my passengers, telling them I might not make it.
Then I tried starting the car again.

Failure.

I then called my parents, and in the mean time was stuck in the car, waving my hands frantically to urge the cars behind to move to the next lane.

Thankfully no one honked at me. Maybe it's because I'm of the weaker gender, or maybe no one gives a damn anymore.

But nontheless, when my parents came I was sooo relieved and thought I'd not make it to the event in Luna Bar because I will have to send the car for repair. My dad popped his head into the car and said,

"hey, look at what gear are you at"

*looks*

OMG..I left the gear at D!

And that was why I COULDNT start my car engine for a good 20mins, and caused a loong traffic jam on the busy slope!! Yes. I am a NOOB-head~~

Nontheless, I managed to pick up all my lovely passengers, and got them all to Luna Bar in one piece! *woots*

Upon the entrance, we were for our names for our "nametags" I was pondering if I should name myself WenYi or Wene or Weneism, and decided Wene was the best :)

Although I made it to Luna Bar more than an hour after the time stated on the email, most of the guest have yet to arrive. Welcome to Malaysian timing people!

There were also girls going around asking people to try out vaseline lotion at the event.
Well, I personally think that this is kind of redundant because I think that the bloggers who joined the contest must have tried Vaseline before. Thus I don't see why they needed these girls to go around. Plus Vaseline gave each blogger who attended the event a goodie bag that's PACKED with Vaseline lotion!! *hehe* I love the fact that I got to keep two goodie bags! One was my own, the other was taken from my pet-bro Feeq! SO that means I have a year's supply of Vaseline Lotion!! *evil laughter*

I was already hungry by the time I arrived at Luna Bar, so when I saw this:

owh yes..loads of *nom nom noms* for me^^

But of course before I could dig in, the emcee: Jojo Struys graced the stage!Man, she's so petite and she's got an amazing smile! She talked for a bit, and introduced the big-shots of Vaseline and Nuffnang on stage.
one of the big shots from Nuffnang (I totally forgot their names >.<)

And after that we were finally released to have our food!! That night, we were entertained by the comedian: JenHan

The only joke that I remember from him was about him complaining why it's not good to be a comedian to earn a living, especially when meeting the parents.

GF's father: Hello there young man.

Comedian: Hello, Uncle. How do you do?

GF's father: Now now, what a polite young man. What are you working as?

Comedian: I'm a comedian.

GF's father: WHAT??? YOU THINK MY DAUGHTER's a JOKE ah??

LOL...

Other than cracking jokes, we got a talented local artist who wow-ed the guest with her amazing vocals!! She's non other than Yuna!

And I loved this song which she sang on the stage that night. Somehow I can't find her official page on YouTube, but this song is really catchy! Me likey :)

Group pic with Yuna!

Of course we took pictures, and I would like to THANK my didi Feeq for being the photographer of the day (as an exchange for me bringing him to the event >.<) While snapping away, I was introduced to Cayenne. Apparently I look like her, do I?

Okay, I guess the pictures below shall sum up the night :)

The grand prize winner: Atreyu Strange
*man, if I knew writing could win me RM3k!!!! >.<*
And owh, this is super funny.
This chicka in green won herself a bright red coach bag! She was soo happy that she forgot to shake hands with the big-shot (director or CEO??) from Vaseline. LOL.

The dudes: Babboon, _____, TehTarik something, Serge

Lovely group shot!!

LOL..I kinda love candid pictures! This is me, making a funny face while thinking of poses.
Finally a pic with Feeq in it!

Nicole making funny faces while I pose with Hooi Nee.

Me and Audrey who's 4ft9. She really looks like Ayumi Hamasaki! And gawd, I look super old next to her >.<

More bloggers whom half of them I don't know, nor do they know me. Meh.

Shannon and me!

The funny bloggers! *spot me*

Wen Yi

Nuffnang Contest | Are You Moist Enough?

Are you moist enough?

That's the question that Vaseline begs you to ask yourself.

So I sat there pondering.

I was trying hard to the answer to the question, but the first thing that came to my mind when the word "moist" is mentioned is..

.............
...........
..........
.......
.....
...
.

a MOIST chocolate cake! lol...

Well, the thing is it's probably simpler to imagine the skin as the chocolate cake. If it isn't moist enough, the cake will be too dry, and thus less delicious or worse still, the cake becomes rock hard! So, the same thing applies to our skin. If the skin is well-moisturized we'll have smooth glowing skin that looks absolutely yummy! *slurps*

Okay, I just crapped that bit out, I'm actually kinda craving for desserts after having home-cooked dinner at home. lol. I guess that's because I have been overly pampered with unlimited buffet style meals over the past 5 nights while on the MySelangor Story contest >.< p.s: updates on the MySelangor Story contest will begin tmr, so stay tuned^^

Back to the question,

"Are You Moist Enough?"

I can bravely say YES, I am :)

If you guys still aren't aware, I was studying overseas in Scotland, UK over the past year. Over there, I used Vaseline Aloe Vera every single day without fail after my hot showers :) And thanks to Vaseline, I managed to keep my skin looking like this even while I travel!

This is a picture of me while traveling in Lisbon. My legs are shiny not because I waxed them, but because I use Vaseline body lotion, especially on my legs because they are the parts of my body that shows the first sign of skin dryness.

Well, unfortunately for my brother, he has to say a BIG FAT NO to that question because

Ekkk...dry elbow!!!

Yes...my brothers are the typical guy who doesn't really care about their skin i.e. he doesn't use a moisturizer like I do. So I took the opportunity to get him to use Vaseline! *evil laugh*

So I went off to get a new bottle of vaseline Total Moisture for Dry Skin like my brother.

But of course, before my brother gets to use it I tried it on myself first :P

The consistency is just nice, not too thick that it's hard to apply, nor too liquid till it will mess up the whole place. Plus it seems really really nice!!

After I tried, I got my bro to use the lotion, and guess what? He likes it too :)

That's me and my bro :) Doesn't he look moist enough already? :P

And one more, I seriously love Vaseline.
Not only their body lotion for keeping the skin moist, but also their lip balm!

My first lip balm from vaseline is the aloe vera one, in green, then after I finished it, I got the red one which gives my lips a tinge of redness while keeping them moist-oh-so-kissable :P

And as an end, I believe that once you have great skin, you'll have the courage to flaunt what you have :)

XOXO

Wen Yi

Movie Screening: Resident Evil Afterlife

Special thanks to Nuffnang for giving me another pair of tickets to catch a movie^^ *whee*

I would also like to thank them for giving me my Gliteratti status once again!! *big smile*

Before the screening, we took two group shots with the two "cos-players": the umbrella corporation soldier and the hot Alice :D

Take 1: JayLeo taken hostage!!

From left to right (standing): Tony, Pennie, Umbrella dude, Me, Alice, Henry
From left to right (down): JayLeo, Baboon, Jayren, XX (there's always an XX in my pic *pai seh ya*) and Shii Teck.

Sorry ya, the picture is kinda dark cause I feel that my camera flash will make everyone look ugly, thus explaining my love for not taking pictures using flash :S

And here's ninja Henry!! and btw, we both got a pair of gloves each :D :D

======================================================

Runtime: 97mins

Plot: In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice (Jovovich), continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead takes them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead - and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.

Trailer:

My verdict: 6/10

I didnt really enjoy the movie. Although there were certain parts which made me jump of my seat, I found that

1. The action is kinda fake. As in it's over board at times, and not as nice as it could be.

2. The storyline is kinda dull and predictable.

3. I don't really fancy the movie being portrayed in a game-like way. It's just weird to me, it's a movie, not a game.

4. I preferred the first ever resident evil whereby the lasers cut through people like tofu! lol~

And I apologise for the late review, I know I should have posted this up before you guys paid Rm18 to watch it in 3D, because honestly, I dont think watching its worth it.

Movie Review: Going the Distance

Thank You NUFFNANG for giving me TWO movie passes to catch the movie "Going the Distance" starring Drew Barrymore and Justin Long :)

It's a really sweet and romantic movie about two people falling in love and trying to make a long distance relationship work. But before the guys go
"Ewww...not another chick flick"

Let me convince you that it's not the common chick flick. It's a matured movie (rated 18sg in Malaysia) which is very well infused with sexual erm...jokes? as well as the usage of the word f*ck
Which I think is great as it shows that the Malaysian movie board has finally decided to let Malaysians grow up by watching uncensored movies :)

It's hard to explain how interesting the movie is portrayed so here's the trailer for the movie. If you enjoy the trailer, you'd probably enjoy the movie itself too :)

=====================================================
I am really glad I made the long drive all the way from Klang to MidValley just to catch the screening because I got the chance to meet fellow bloggers:

LikiChee
JayLeo
Richard
ShiiTeck
Sheerene and Xiu Qi
XiangCool
Toninkush
Shannon
Debbie

(do let me know if I missed out anyone else, because there were so many bloggers, and I met them all for the first time. So do forgive my aging memory *gomenasai*)

*yay, I've gotten pictures from XiangCool *

It was indeed an interesting day for me, because I found out that I was the OLDEST blogger among them >.< Man...age is definitely catching up on me *sigh*

Plus, I got to meet my high schoolmate ShinDee (a.k.a The Gypsy) after such a long time!! It was great to have met her that day! And yes, I will update my blog regarding the places I have traveled in the past year soon ( I shall try not to procrastinate *fingers crossed*)

Once again, thank you NUFFNANG :)
ps: nuffnang, if u read this, could u gimme back my gliteratti status? *pretty please*

What Distance I’d Go for My Other Half

Funny thing is, I haven't found my other half; at least not yet.

Aren't I worried about not finding someone? I am worried, very MUCH worried infact that I may not find my other half anytime soon :S

But my friends around me tell me otherwise, they say,

"Don't worry, everyone has someone. And if you believe it, your knight in shining armour is out there somewhere looking for you. And when he comes, tell him

"What too you so long? I've been waiting for you for the longest time"

Yes, as much as I love to believe that I would too have my own love story, a part of me doubts that. So to say, with the tiny-wheeny bit of doubt, I think I just broken the law of attraction.

Nevertheless, I do want to believe that I will find my other half soon :) *fingers-crossed*
Maybe I will meet a really good-looking doctor once I start working in the hospital :P
Or maybe I will get to meet a really nice guy from erm...the hospital???

And when I do find him, I will try NOT to make the same mistakes which I made in my previous relationship. And this time around, I will definitely go the extra mile to make my relationship work :)

I will try to be the understanding gf that I wasn't in the past.
I will try to be the one who makes him smile.

There's too many I will tryS in my mind right now, but I believe when I meet the right one, everything will fall into place even without me trying :)

And when I do find him, maybe I could revisit Paris with him :)

That's me, with short hair, under the Eiffel Tower last year Sept 2009.

But if I somehow can't find my other half, you'll probably see me beside a lake feeding breadcrumbs to swans or birds..LOL~~

But i think the swans don't like me that much. They are scratching their backs instead = =

Fighting Umbrella Corporation

*For nuffnang*

Now before you start singing

"under my umbrella-ella-ella eh" by Rihanna, after reading the title..

I would like to clarify that the umbrella that I mentioned in the title is the Umbrella Cooperation (or simply the evil company that unleashed a never-ending horde of zombies to the planet) in the movie Resident Evil! :)

poster

Yes. Milla Jovovich is HOT! That's why I'm writing this post in hopes to get free passes to catch the movie a day before it hits the big screen! * this is my first time trying out in nuffnang so wish me luck :)*

And as Milla Jovovich plays Alice in the movie, I wanna be Alice too! (of course I wanna be hot too :P)

Although being Alice, I could probably kick-asses with my super-human abilities and my clones (kinda like the Monkey King Wu Kong :P), and take down zombies without dying. Oh wait, I kinda forgot the fact that dozens of the clones died in the previous movie...

So, this time around, I'll get a hand from mother nature.

How so?

You know how sometimes when the wind blows really strong, and your umbrella will turn upside down??

That's the way to beat umbrella corporation; by brewing a storm in the cup!
And obviously to join me in my quest will be Storm from X-men! (just to add another hot chick to fight along Alice :P)

By using her powers, I'll freeze all the zombies (kinda like how Megatron was kept frozen for decades) and shoot them all down! Obviously when all the zombies die, Umbrella will no longer survive :)
