Graduation in IMU

I'm officially a returning graduate of IMU as of August 21st, 2010 :)

It was a day whereby my parents and friends where beside me.
To be honest, graduating twice for the same degree isn't that fun. In fact it's quite a waste of money :S But at least my parents got to see their first child and only daughter on stage getting her scroll :)

I'll the pictures do the talking instead :)

My parents and I at the start of the day. (Note: only one bouquet of flowers)

My parents and I again after the ceremony. Note: Three bouquets of flowers :D
I was a happy girl, and my first and only time receiving so many flowers within a day >.< *I am a blessed girl indeed*

My housemates throughout my university life are indeed the most important friends that I have made so far. They've lived with me for years, withstanding my tempers, through thick or thin, happiness or sadness.

Yes, if they weren't all attached and if I were a GUY, I'll marry them all :p

From left to right: Me, Poh Yee, Chin Yeong and Renly

Yes, I am a greedy happy girl with my three bouquet of flowers. LOL. While Poh Yee poses with her super-angelic look here, but truth be told, that's a mask :P *shhhhh*

Also, I've got my secondary school friends to thanks for being there on my memorable day~

From left to right: Pei Li, Soo Hui, Me and Benjamin.

They've been great friends over the years, since the days I entered high school till today. That makes our friendship more than a decade old! (Yes, that's how old I am :P )

Here, are the Incovar-ians who came and made the day memorable as well :)
From left to right: Sin Hui, Sin Ye, Me, Kenny, Feb's friends, Febrianna, Ming Yi, Ai Xin, Michelle & Yong Wei

(Incovar is a camp for youths and runs twice every year. It is opened for everyone who wants to meet new friends and learn more about Buddhism at the same time. I've joined two Incovar camps to date and I never regretted joining them. In fact I learned a lot, and made loads of friends :) So to those who are interested, do join their camps :)

And yes, similar to the graduation in Glasgow, a picture of the 8 "housemates" of D8 and C1 is a MUST! Yet again Choong Lii is missing in action, but we've substituted him with Kayin instead :p

From left to right: Poh Yee, Ah Ken, Renly, Choon Hau, Me, Cheh Hsia, Chin Yeong, & Kayin

Graduations are never complete without taking this picture :)
The throwing of the mortarboard :)
The happiness that comes with throwing an unbreakable hat is unexplainable :)
At the first throw, I was anxious.
At the second throw, the hat seems lighter.
At the third and subsequent throws, it feels like a sport whereby the winner is the one who throws the highest. LOL~

And as the hats fall onto the ground, we're all smiles :)

I LOVE this picture a LOT!
It speaks a thousand words.
Just looking at the facial expression of my friends brings a smile to my face.
Some were staying away from the hat, one was "dancing", some were like me = smiling till my eyes were all squinted to a line, some were trying to reach for their hats, while by standers look at the hype that's happening :)

To end this post, here is me, looking like an OL (Office lady) with all the gifts from loved ones :)

=======================================================
Just for laughs.

Today as I was removing the graduation bears which came with the flowers I received, I noticed something peculiar about the bears. They were all sodomised :( Poor bears~

Look at this little white bear..A poor victim of sodomy..

And this "winnie the pooh" got it worse! Three holes~~ Poor thing indeed...

May 30 - Convocation + Kuala Selangor Trip

Convocation, is a time where one celebrates their graduation. It's generally a ONCE in a lifetime thing, but for us (Mpharm students) we get THREE convocations!

One in Malaysia once we finish our "Phase 1" in IMU,

Second one : the official graduation in University of Strathclyde,

Third one: back in IMU again after completion of the whole degree course!

So, when the invitation was sent to me, I took one look, and saw that

1. the convocation was to be held in IMU's very own Auditorium,
2. I was to pay RM110 for the robe and a photo,

I decided not to go. And MAJORITY of my batchmates decided to skip as well.
BUT then, we got news that PohYee was the gold medalist (meaning the top scorer in our entire batch) I could not skip the hateful event anymore. LOL >.<
*congrats pohyee~~~*
Anyways, I only managed to take a few pictures as there were TOO many cameras around, so it's best to just let others snap the pics, and grab it from them later >.<
*the gold medalist and i*

*gian wan and I*

*Elaine and I*

And, I am glad that I did because I got a free chocolate from Ming Hui, Hui Shan, Jun Yan and Chii ChiiThe yummy chocolate which I gobbbled up( I was hungry!) after taking it's photo. ROFL *thank you chin yeong for reminding me to take the pic^^*
note: the book says microbiology! isn't it cute!
After the event, I tagged along with Pohyee's family for a sumptuous dim sum session at Damansara Uptown! After that, we went back to her sis place to chill a bit, before I took the ktm back to Klang~~~

Btw, Patas (the uruguary dude whom I met at Taman Negara) came over to Klang, and stayed in our place a couple of days. So, we brought him around to places we've never been. And that evening, it was Kuala Selangor!

First stop was Bukit Malawati. We paid RM2 per person, and took a ride on the tram up to the hill =)

*mummy and daddy*

*patas, dada and fei*

*me me me^^ ignore my bro with the constipated look behind*
The hill with "remains" of the fort which was taken down by the Dutch(the very first people who colonised Malaya) and a light house. And one more, the hill was infested by monkeys. Yes, monkeys who would eat long beans and come into close contact with humans.

*mama and baby monkey^^*

After that, we moved on to a restaurant along the fishing village to try their seafood.
And it lived up to it's name! It provided fresh seafood for a reasonable price! *thumbs up*
After dinner, we headed to the fireflies village. Apparently there a few boat ride providers, but the one I went to, was pretty disappointing. I wasn't allowed to take pictures, and the bloody pak cik who was in-charge kept saying:

" TAK boleh ambil gambar, NANTI denda RM500"
(You're not allowed to take pictures, if not you'd be fined RM500)

Bloody annoying. = =''

There were VERY few fireflies. Yes, they did light up the mangroove trees like christmas trees, but there were only those few trees with it, and the fireflies weren't moving much. And the boat driver didn't want to bring us closer to the trees. Instead we went pass the beautiful trees rather fast, and made a turn back to the jetty. It was a REALLY short trip but costed us RM12 = = what a rip off.....

Anyways, I think the fireflies are already extinct. Congrats to the developers for causing that to the environment. In the future, I'm sure they'd put on fake lightbulbs or LEDs on the trees so that they'd look like fireflies from far, and then still charge passengers RM 12 per ride = =''

May 22 -24: Taman Negara Trip

I had always wanted to go to Taman Negara because I think it's a place worth visiting, plus it's one of the oldest rain forests in the world (apparently 130million years...or so the tour guide claimed.)

Anyways, Peas went there with her two brothers and Guo Chai (my brother's friend), thus making me the "Dai Ga Jie" or Big Sister! Hehe~

We left Klang at the wee hours of the morning, around 6.35am. And the traffic was a breeze! We reached the Kuala Tembeling Jetty around 10am, and sadly the boat ride could only depart at 2.30pm (cause the boatmen had Friday prayers >.<). And so we headed down to Jerantut (the nearest town). And the town was VERY small, and had nothing much to offer. The only place worth visiting was a shop which sold everything for RM2! Yes, believe it RM2. Can drinks like Yeo's Cincau were sold for RM 2 for 2 tins!!! And I even got a cap for RM2^^ Back to story, we took the package to Taman Negara. It costed RM250 per pax, and covers: 1. Return boat ride from Kuala Tembeling to Kuala Tahan. (RM70) 2. Meals (1 lunch, 2 breakfast, 2 dinner) 3. Park entry permit (RM1) 4. Canopy Walk + Bukit Terisik "Climb" (RM30) 5. Night Walk (RM20) 6. Orang Asli Village Visit (RM40) 7. "Rapid Shooting" (RM40) 8. Accomodation for 2 nights in a fan hostel (RM 24) - Afternoons in the hostel is torturous, but during the night, sleeping in the upper bunk was VERY cold! I personally found the package a WASTE of money. It would have been MUCH MUCH cheaper if we didn't take the package and went in ourselves directly to Kuala Tahan. There are two entry points to Taman Negara, one could go directly by a vehicle to Kuala Tahan, or take a 3 hour-long boat ride into Kuala Tahan by boat. The bloody boat ride was so expensive, RM35 one way = = Oh well, we already paid for it, so no point complaining anymore...*sigh* it serves to remind me that IF I'm planning to go Taman Negara again, NEVER take the boat ride! LOL >< (because when you're in Kuala Tahan itself, you'd have to take short boat rides across the river to get into the forests~~ so basically you'll have plenty of chances to sit on a boat once you reach the place) My two brothers acting cool~

The placed we slept for 2 nights~

Night Walk Spottings:

The Orang Asli Village

Shin Shin, the sweet Taiwanese girl and I
We met Shin Shin on the very first day of the trip at the Kuala Tembeling Jetty. The way she approached us was really amusing. As we were boarding the little boat, she came to me with an excited tone asking where I was staying. (I'm secretly guessing that she approached me cause the other people were "ang mohs" and my two brothers look like malays (cause they are SUPER tan ;p). So being the only chinese looking person around there, she came to me^^)

Okies, back to story, Shin Shin is the MOST daring girl I've ever met. Daring in a good way. She's been travelling alone in Asia! She's been to Vietnam all by herself. Been to Singapore. And now she's running around Malaysia, alone! Travelling in Asia alone, is something which I think I would never have the guts to do in this lifetime!

I've always thought that girls who travel alone are those really independent and tomboy-ish kind of girls, but Shin Shin proved me wrong >.<>.< style="font-weight: bold;" href="http://picasaweb.google.com/cafemilk">here's Shin Shin's picasa album, so that you can see the places she's been! And yea, one more thing, she's actually older than me, but as you can see, I look older than her >.<

A group pic of us, and the ppl we hung out with~

Singapore Trip

.
.

I skipped one day of class just to go to Singapore with my mum and my bros.
Best of all, no one knew that I skipped class. (except my housemates I guess ;p)

I reached back a few hours ago, and met several of my batch mates while heading "home". When I asked one of them,
"What happened in class today?"
Siva said,

"Eh, you didn't come for class today?"

Well, duh, point proven that most of my batch mates are usually oblivious to their "surrounding", me included. LOL ;p

Anyways, interesting things that I saw in Singapore.

hmmm.....Buang Kok.....
Buang = Throw (in Malay)

So, when we saw this.....

Wah....Throw "Cock" Medical centre!!!!!!

But then, look closely to the left.
Buangkok is actually "man guo" i.e something like Bangkok or "man gu".
My brothers and I, albeit a bit "kampung"-like, discussed about the fact how such a weird interesting name came up and became the name of the whole area.

Anyhow, other stuff that which I experienced while in Singapore will be in pictures. I am a bad writer.

Yup, I went to Hooters in singapore with my relatives and my 9-year old nephew.

Just in case you wonder what is hooters famous for, let me give u a brief idea.
Their waitresses dress up in super mini short pants, where in certain cases you can see part of their lovely butts popping out AND that's not the only thing you'll see "popping" out.
Their waitresses also wear a white tank top, which reveals their cleavage.

Of course not ALL their waitresses have beautiful assets as those you get in a playboy magazine. But at least they are daring enough to wear the skimpy uniform, and go around serving people.
And, thankfully the waitress that served our table, had assets which were desirable ;p

Sadly enough, I didn't have the guts to take pictures of the waitresses in fear of offending their privacy. So, if you're interested in the "hooters" do google them up ;p

And to end the post, I love this picture.
It feels...nice ;p

yellow, orange, green~

Yellow, orange and green,
those are the colors of my zippers.

What am I talking about??
Zippers lah~

Using the colorful zippers of mine,

along with a trusty Singer sewing machine,
with it's sharp sharp needle,

I made two pencil cases for my brothers who'll be going back to Sabah once again.
Which is nicer? This one....

Or this one??

"Where got difference lah?", you say.

Well, let me tell you, there is!!
Look carefully~
(it's like one of those spot the difference game ;p)
